In 1998 I started to articulate my thoughts in form of textile-related objects rather than texts. In 1998 - due to affection and annoyance - I began to overcoat tools (Werkzeug - "Werk"="work"/"zeug"="tool, things, stuff") with textile structures. To my surprise this did not turn to ridicule and invalidate them but changed them into some things that deserved a new designation: "Wirkzeug" ("wirken" = "to have an effect/ operate").

Proceeding and in search of new forms of textile expressions I taught myself how to make bobbin lace. And while the digital machine needs only a click to come up with results and every second one has to wait is highly demanding, developing and creating a piece of bobbin lace for the tablecloth "tabula rasa" has taken three years full of changes: 2010 to 2013.
